No golfer is complete without an odd and eccentric arrangement of strange accessories to help him get through the day. Golfers certainly have a lot to choose from, since it is one of the most accessorized sports out there. If you are looking for some nice golfing accessories, either for yourself or as a gift for a golfing loved one, you will have no problem finding something that will tickle your fancy. Here I will discuss some of the most practical golf accessories. There are many more than the ones that will be discussed here, but most of them are hardly able to be classified as useful. If you are looking for more of a gag gift, you may want to look elsewhere. However, if your needs include a useful golf accessory, read on.

Motorized golf caddies are devices that will carry the golfers clubs alongside him as he walks. Rather than straining himself by carrying the clubs manually, he can simply enjoy a stroll through the scenic golf course while the motorized caddy does most of the hard work. Before you buy one of these, you should be sure that the recipient will have a need for it. Some golfers prefer to leave their clubs in their golf cart, or to simply hire a human caddy. Find out about the golfers habits, and decide for yourself whether you think he would find a motorized caddy useful or not. The prices can run fairly high, so you want to make sure that the enjoyment is worth the money.

Home training equipment is also very popular in the golfing community. There are many different devices that are meant to teach golfers to swing with better technique in the comfort of their own homes. These are known as golf swing trainers, and are generally more on the expensive side than any other golf gift. There are quite a few different choices, from the basic home putting green to more advanced accelerometer-enhanced clubs that will detect your swinging angles and speed. Again, this is not the kind of gift that you should buy out of nowhere. Discuss it with the person you would like to give it to, and make sure that it would be put to good use.

Overall, you should know that golfers are a fairly easy crowd to please. Anyone who is happy just hitting balls with sticks all day will have no problem entertaining themselves with any of the gimmicky or novelty gifts that you can come up with. Therefore if you are trying to find one of the top golf accessories for yourself or a golfing friends or family member, you shouldnt worry too much about finding the perfect thing. As long as they have decent clubs, they should be set. Golf clubs are by far the most expensive part of a golfers arsenal of items, and the most important part as well. If you want to buy golf clubs for someone, you would probably do better to give them a gift certificate or coupon so that they can choose them on their own.

Another gift that is great for golfers is some sort of trip to a golf course that they would really enjoy going to. Sometimes an avid golfer doesnt have the time (or doesnt give himself enough of a break) to visit some of the nicer or more exotic golfing locations. If you really want to surprise and delight a golfer, you should plan a golfing vacation to one of the nicer locations in the world. Maybe a place where you can golf for most of the day, then swim in the ocean for a few hours before heading to your deluxe hotel. Usually if you plan it right you can keep the cost from being too insanely high, but most of the time it is better to indulge yourself and spend what it takes to have a great time.

Theres no doubt about it that the game of golf is one that is massively popular all over the world. Golf is a low-impact sport that can provide participants of all ages not only a fun recreational activity but also some type of exercise. Golf is good for the body, its good for the mind, its good for social activities, and its good for business.

There has been a renewed interest in golf lately among the younger generations with the rise in popularity of golf phenomenon Tiger Woods. These days, golf is enjoyed by young and old alike. It gives fathers time to spend with sons and daughters, brothers with sisters, and friends with other friends.

The game of golf is played on both the amateur and professional levels with notoriety coming to good players locally and nationally. The professional golfers who are most famous are well-known world-wide, and often people strive to emulate them and their amazing play styles.

Of course, golf isnt without its stressors. Its nice to be out on the course when its a sunny spring day with a mild breeze, but it can be spoiled by bad shots, horrible lies, water hazards, and missed putts. You see, golf isnt an exact science. There are many variables that go into a good golf swing, and its nearly impossible to perfect them all all at the same time.

Even so, golf can become an obsession with some people as they strive to lower their scores and beat their friends. Millions of dollars is spent every year on golf lessons, magazines, how-to videos, and programs that purport to improve your golf swing and lower your score.

Golf equipment is also big business as clubs are always evolving with new technologies and equipment to build them. Big head drivers, graphite shafts, and other equipment advancements are touted as being the new best things in golf. They are advertised heavily and make claims that you just have to have these products if you want to play good golf.

If youre not a golfer, you might wonder whats so wonderful about this game. After all, taking a stick and hitting a little ball into a hole doesnt sound like very much fun. But golf is challenging and involves much more than just physical ability. It requires thinking skills, deduction skills, and mental clarity. Because its nearly impossible to perfect a golf game, its a great way to challenge yourself as well as others.

We highly suggest you take up golf if you want a ways to meet new people, connect with old friends, and enjoy a fun, challenging activity. The golf course is also a great place to conduct business. Theres so much we can say about golf, but nothing extols the virtues of this sport like getting out on the links and just doing it!

There are literally hundreds and hundreds of different golf training aids on the market these days. Golfers will spend hundreds of dollars on the latest golf gadgets in hopes for a better golf game. Do these golf training aids work the way they are advertised? Perhaps.

There are more golf swing training aids now than ever before. They are rampant and golfers chomp at the bit when a new one comes out. The only problem is are they effective at curing your swing fault. Here are a couple of golf swing training aids:

* The Medicus Golf Club is a swing trainer that is specific to many swing faults and can give you immediate feedback. It has been around for a very long time and has been endorsed by Davis Love III for many years.
* Golf swing plane training aids can specifically help you get a feel for the proper swing plane for your body size. These also have stood the test of time and are used on many driving ranges as a teaching tool.

Putting is no doubt one of the most important parts of the golf game. Thats why another essential golf training aid that will benefit your golf game is some type of putting trainer. There certainly many to choose from, but pick one that specifically addresses your putting flaws.

* A putting track is a great golf training aid. This contraption helps keep your putter in a straight motion and really can improve your putting skills by giving stability to your putting stroke.
* Many people have seen golf putting mats, and they can be good training aids for your putting game. These are just mats usually made of astro turf with holes or cups at the end that simulate a putting green. The golf putting mat is a great way to work on your putting game in the cold months when you cant get on the course!

Finally, you may want to use a golf training aid to improve your golf swing speed. There are also many of these out on the market, but keep in mind that swing speed isnt everything. A good, effective golf stroke is smooth and calculated and doesnt necessarily depend wholly on the speed of your stroke so much as your form and strength.

There are many, many golf training aids available to help whats ailing in your golf game. Some of them really do help, but others prove ultimately to be a waste of money as well as time when using them. Do some research on golf training aids and choose wisely. Then, hopefully, watch your golf game improve!

People are always on the lookout for tips to make their golf game better. Golf isnt an easy sport to master. Those of us who love the game know that the more information you have regarding the swing, course management, putting, etc. the more chance you have of playing better. Thats why we will take golf tips from almost anyone whos willing to offer.

So what kind of golf tips can we offer up in this article? Space is limited, so well try to focus only on those tips that are most asked for. First, if you have a bad temper, you probably shouldnt take up golf. Were just kidding, really. Actually, golf can be good for your mental state. You may find that you can take out your frustration on the golf course in productive ways and perhaps you can gain better control of that temper!

Since most people have trouble with their setup, our first set of golf tips will deal with the setup.

* Position your body so your body is parallel with the target line
* Your feet should be shoulder width apart
* With short irons, put the ball in the center of your stance
* Middle irons should have the ball placed one ball toward the target side from center
* For long irons and fairway woods, place the ball two ball lengths toward the target from center
* The ball should be three ball lengths toward the target from center
* Balance your weight on the balls of your feet
* Bend your knees slightly and keep your spine straight
* Move your body from the hips and make it a smooth, fluent motion

Keep your eye on the ball until well after you complete your follow-through swing. If you dont do this, you will have a tendency to stand up on the ball which will cause you to top the ball. Do this with all shots. Look at the back of the ball and dont take your eyes off of it until its natural to look and see where the ball has gone.

When putting, the best golf tips we can offer up are:

* Visualize the path your ball will travel so that it will go in the hole
* Read the green and take into account any dips that may cause your ball to change its direction. Then you can compensate with your aim.
* The putting swing is a smooth, pendulum-like action with no wrist break. You will swing with your shoulders and should always keep your head down.
* Be sure you put enough speed on the ball so that you will actually make it to the hole. Theres nothing worse than coming up short on a putt. These lead to three putt disasters and can be very frustrating!

There are all sorts of golf tips out there to be found. Take any tips on your golf game that you can find and then try them out to see if they work. You can never have too many tips if you really want to make your golf game better.

The golf swing is probably one of the most frustrating parts of the game of golf. People are constantly modifying their swing to get more distance or to correct problems like a slice or a hook. Really, though, the golf swing is just a matter of mechanics and putting body motions together in the right way to be consistent. But experienced golfers know this is easier said than done. What are the basics of a good golf swing?

* Your stance should be about shoulder width apart and your feet should be pointing slightly out but not too much!
* Let your arms hang naturally down from your body and place the club behind the ball. If your shoulders hunch or you have tension in your arms, you are probably too close to the ball. Stand back a little bit.
* Place about 70 percent of your body weight on your back leg.
* Straighten your spine and have a bit of bend in your knees.
* Keep your eye on the ball during your entire swing
* Grip the club as if you are holding a small, delicate bird. You want to keep the bird in your hands, but you dont want to crush it either. Thats how you should hold your club.
* A good golf swing will be a fluid, easy motion with your shoulders turning slightly in the backswing and your follow-through complete.
* Make sure you keep your feet planted and slow down in your backswing. Most problems with a golf swing are cause by swinging too quickly in the back swing and then not accelerating through the ball.
* You will want to hit the ball in the sweet spot or the center of the club. Hitting it anyplace else will cause your ball to travel in directions that you really dont want it to go in.
* Then grip it and rip it!

It might help for you to take a lesson or two on the golf swing or even watch the way the pros do it on television. There are numerous articles that exist on the Internet that can help you with your golf swing, so always look for information and take as much advice as you can get.

Learning to swing a golf club takes years of practice as any avid golfer will tell you. There are a hundred things to know and they all have to be working in exactly the right ways at exactly the right time to a have a good, consistent golf swing. Sometimes this just doesnt happen, but when it does, it certainly is a great feeling!

There are many ways you can go about receiving instruction for your golf game. Many of use even those who have been golfing for a long time can benefit from some type of golf instruction. The good news is that there are all sorts of options you can pursue to get effective teaching on the golf game.

There are many different ways you can go about receiving golf instruction. Most golf clubs have club pros on staff who are more than happy to offer lessons for a fee. The advantage to instruction like this is that you get one on one advice as well as specific fixes to your swing tailored to how your body moves.

Golf seminars and schools are often found in many places around the country. Professional instructors often travel around the country holding week long golf schools on local courses. This type of golf instruction is also advantageous because you are utilizing the skills and knowledge of a golf professional.
A students success comes from having an instructor that that he or she can relate to, understand, and can ultimately see improvement in their own game. In some cases students enjoy instructors who are rigorous and demanding while others enjoy an instructor who is patient and pushes the student at a slower rate.
Find an instructor that you are comfortable with and who has the credentials and experience to effectively provide the golf instruction you need. Ask questions before you sign up. Where did the instructor get his or her training? What kind of scores does he or she make on a consistent basis? You will want someone who knows what he or she is talking about so you dont get bad advice and training.
Believe it or not, you can find some great golf instruction online at various websites in articles published by professionals in the game. These articles address specific parts of the golf game, so if you are looking for a way to improve your stance or get more distance from your drive, you can certainly find it online!
If you want to get better at the game of golf, you cant go wrong when you seek out golf instruction. There are a lot of people who have learned about the game both in seminars as well as through playing. Above all, the most important part of golf instruction is to get out on the course and test out what youve been told. Learning through doing might be the best instructor of all.

As much as anything else you need to learn to improve your swing, it’s going to be patience. Being impatient can cause you to tense up or to try to power through your swing rather than using a skilled stroke. You may also give up in practicing the things you need to learn in order to improve your swing and then will fall right back into bad habits.

Think of everything involved in a golf swing itself. You need the right clubs at the right height and weight for you. You need to grip them properly. Your backswing and your follow-through need to be aligned right. There are many, many details of which you need to be aware and which may need some tweaking. You’re also fighting your natural tendencies to just get up and whack at the ball or to hold the club a certain way. You may also be fighting the natural tendencies you’ve learned over the years when it comes to your stance, your grip, and your swing. All of these things are very difficult and don’t usually come easily for anyone.

One thing to remember is that golf is supposed to be a relaxing, enjoyable game. It’s not a game of speed or power. There’s no need to rush through the game itself and rushing through the learning process will simply be counterproductive. So learn patience and it will definitely pay off in the end.

This might sound like a strange statement, but oddly enough people that say that they want to improve their swing often fight everything they need to do in order to accomplish just that. There’s a saying that doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results is the definition of insanity. And yet this is often what golfers do! They want to hit the ball differently, they want different results – but often aren’t willing to go through the sometimes tedious frustration that is necessary in order to learn to do just that.

Most golfers apply what can be called the band-aid approach to improving their swing and their game. They want a quick fix, a secret little flick of the wrist or new way of holding the club that will magically improve everything they’re doing.

Learning the proper swing in golf is like learning a new language. Many people struggle with new languages because they need to move their mouth in tongue in ways that are awkward and even embarrassing, and they get frustrated very easily when the sounds don’t happen easily. A new language means time and patience and all those embarrassing moments; it doesn’t come easily.

A proper golf swing is much the same way. There needs to be time and patience and learning new, sometimes awkward movements. Often a golfer will need to go through a lot of badly hit shots before he or she learns the correct way of doing things. But that “quick fix” approach will not do much to improve their score, at least not by much.

There is also a certain amount of work involved in learning a proper swing. Practicing once or twice for a few minutes each in the backyard probably won’t do it for most people. You need to practice for hours and you need to do this regularly.

On the other hand, practice does make perfect or at least will improve your swing tremendously. Going through all that awkwardness and embarrassment can be like learning a new language – it’s well worth it when you realize that you’re fluent in that language. Everything pays off in the end; it’s also true with learning the proper swing and stroke in golf. If you decide that you want much more than a quick fix or that band-aid approach, you may find that all the hours you’ve spent practicing have all been worth it as you see your game consistently improved.

Practicing your golf swing should be enjoyable but of course there are many things that can interfere with a proper practice schedule. If you don’t set aside the time needed to practice, you will probably not see much improvement.

A golf instructor can encourage you to keep up with your practice schedule and note what you need to practice specifically. Think of this like how piano lessons work – you know you’re going to face that instructor in a week and there’s no fooling him or her when it comes to your practice throughout the week! Your golf instructor can be much the same way. He or she can give you the encouragement you need to keep up with your practice, even if for no reason other than the fact that you need to face them in a week.

There’s not much you can do to improve your swing if you don’t practice. Getting instruction is one thing but you need to practice what you’ve learned in order to actually see any improvement. A good golf instructor can encourage you to keep up with this practice, even when you’re busy and even through the off-seasons.

Learning to Relax

Golf is not about strength and power; it’s about skill. This skill takes time to learn and time to employ at every hole.

Unfortunately many golfers get very tense and even upset about their game, especially when they’re struggling with their swing. This tension translates to a very poor grip and swing which of course just makes the problem worse. When a golfer is tense, they often tend to keep their entire body tense and wind up “smacking” the club against the ball or trying to overpower it. This leads to a hook or slice and very little distance.

A good instructor can help you with the mental part of the game, especially if you have a tendency to get tense. Teaching you to take your time and to relax completely is an important part of what a good golf instructor will do.

So how can you put this all together for a correct, effective golf swing? Here are some things you should remember:

When you approach the ball, let your club be your guide for how far back you need to stand. Lay the club head down next to the ball facing it squarely. Drop it into your hands lightly at a 45 degree angle and then adjust the distance between you and the ball according to your club length. Do not walk up to the ball and then hold your club according to how far away you are. Your club length should determine where you stand, not the other way around.

Get into the proper stance. Your shoulders should be square across but relaxed and rounded. While you’re standing over the ball, your posture should be good with only a slight bend at the waist.

Grip the club correctly. This should be loose but firm. If you’re developing calluses, you’re probably holding it too tightly. If the club feels like it’s going to fly out of your hands during any part of your swing (or if it ever has flown out of your hands!), your grip is not firm enough. Your thumbs should be aligned, one behind the other, both pointing straight down the shaft and at the ball.

Keep your arms straight. Your golf swing originates from the shoulders, not the elbows. If your forearms move before your upper arms, you’re not originating your swing from the shoulders. Your entire upper body moves as one.

Your elbows need to be in alignment as well. Unlike in baseball, you do not keep one above the other and should not be pulling them up toward your body as you roll into your swing. This is very important because if your elbows are out of alignment when you start your swing or at any time during the swing, the club will be pulled out of its proper arc.

Remember the illustration of swinging inside a barrel. With your entire upper body, you need to roll around, not sideways, into your swing. You are not reaching above you and shouldn’t be pulling the club away from your body but are just making a round movement that originates from the shoulders and involves the whole arms and upper part of the body.

As you come back down from your swing, the arms should remain in that barrel roll. You are not coming straight at the ball; if you try to do this you may just hit the ground on your way down! Your entire swing is in an arc, not a choppy motion that is trying to whack the ball.

Your wrists should cock only at the last moment as you strike the ball so that your arms can continue in their arc. Don’t make the mistake of locking them or getting them out of alignment when the club is above your head.

During your follow-through, you need to continue in that arc. Remember that your navel should be pointing at your intended target when your swing is done. If your belly is still pointing forward at the end of your swing, you’re probably tossed sideways and your upper body will put your entire swing out of motion. That last part of your swing is vitally important as it determines the trajectory of the ball. Those that hook or slice often find that they’ve gotten out of that good barrel roll, not during their back swing but in their follow-through. Remember that the swing isn’t over until the club is across the body, not when it hits the ball.

And of course you need to keep your head down through this entire swing. Would you believe that many golfers actually not only jerk their head up but have a tendency to close their eyes during their swing? If you do this you may be trying to put too much power behind your swing, closing your eyes against the force of the club hitting the ball. You need to keep your eye on the ball throughout your entire swing.

Make sure everything is smooth and relaxed. Golf is not about power and strength but the easy skill of the swing. Resist the urge to “jerk” your club around or “smack” the ball upon impact. Notice how smooth and fluid the swings of professional golfers are; there’s no overpowering the ball or pulling the swing too far with them.

If you keep everything in the right arc and remember to start from the shoulders and keep your entire body working together, you’ll notice your swing improving immensely. Most poor golf swings are caused by one or two elements working against each other, such as the midsection not moving during the follow-through or the arms moving before the shoulders. A simple, smooth swing will win out every single time!
