Learn Patience
As much as anything else you need to learn to improve your swing, it's going to be patience. Being impatient can cause you to tense up or to try to power through your swing rather than using a skilled stroke. You may also give up in practicing the things you need to learn in order to improve your swing and then will fall right back into bad habits.
Think of everything involved in a golf swing itself. You need the right ... Read More »
You Must Want to Improve
This might sound like a strange statement, but oddly enough people that say that they want to improve their swing often fight everything they need to do in order to accomplish just that. There's a saying that doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results is the definition of insanity. And yet this is often what golfers do! They want to hit the ball differently, they want different results - but often aren't willing to go through ... Read More »
Psychology of Instruction
Practicing your golf swing should be enjoyable but of course there are many things that can interfere with a proper practice schedule. If you don't set aside the time needed to practice, you will probably not see much improvement.

Drop it into your hands lightly at a 45 degree angle and then adjust the distance between you and the ball according to your club length. Do not walk ... Read More »
Arm Roll
Believe it or not, the arms should not rotate or roll during the golf swing. After the follow-through there may be a slight shoulder roll due to the momentum of the swing, but if the arms are rolling during the swing itself this means there is probably not enough extension during the stance and the swing.
Arm rolls cause the wrists to cock too soon; they should do this only at the very end of the follow-through.
One problem with an arm ... Read More »
Follow-Through
Your follow-through is very important when talking about your golf swing as it helps to determine the entire path of your club. The follow-through helps guide the ball to its intended target.
Problems with the follow-through are as common as problems with all other parts of the swing. When the arms and the body are at odds and fighting with one another, the wrists get cocked too early in the follow-through. The arms roll in order to square the club head ... Read More »
