Golf is a low-impact sport that can provide participants of all ages not only a fun recreational activity but also some type of exercise.  Golf is good for the body, its good for the mind, its good for social activities, and its good for business.</p>
<p>There has been a renewed interest in golf lately among the younger generations with the rise in popularity of golf phenomenon Tiger Woods.  These days, golf is enjoyed by young and old alike.  It gives fathers time to spend with sons and daughters, brothers with sisters, and friends with other friends.</p>
<p>The game of golf is played on both the amateur and professional levels with notoriety coming to good players locally and nationally.  The professional golfers who are most famous are well-known world-wide, and often people strive to emulate them and their amazing play styles.</p>
<p>Of course, golf isnt without its stressors.  Its nice to be out on the course when its a sunny spring day with a mild breeze, but it can be spoiled by bad shots, horrible lies, water hazards, and missed putts.  You see, golf isnt an exact science.  There are many variables that go into a good golf swing, and its nearly impossible to perfect them all  all at the same time.</p>
<p>Even so, golf can become an obsession with some people as they strive to lower their scores and beat their friends.  Millions of dollars is spent every year on golf lessons, magazines, how-to videos, and programs that purport to improve your golf swing and lower your score.</p>
<p>Golf equipment is also big business as clubs are always evolving with new technologies and equipment to build them.  Big head drivers, graphite shafts, and other equipment advancements are touted as being the new best things in golf.  They are advertised heavily and make claims that you just have to have these products if you want to play good golf.</p>
<p>If youre not a golfer, you might wonder whats so wonderful about this game.  After all, taking a stick and hitting a little ball into a hole doesnt sound like very much fun.  But golf is challenging and involves much more than just physical ability.  It requires thinking skills, deduction skills, and mental clarity.  Because its nearly impossible to perfect a golf game, its a great way to challenge yourself as well as others.</p>
<p>We highly suggest you take up golf if you want a ways to meet new people, connect with old friends, and enjoy a fun, challenging activity.  The golf course is also a great place to conduct business.  Theres so much we can say about golf, but nothing extols the virtues of this sport like getting out on the links and just doing it!</p>

It is one of those sports that can be played with little skill by people of all ages  young and old alike.  Recognizing that golf is one of the major sports in the world has been a great advancement for people who love this game.</p>
<p>Most people think of traditional sports as one on one or team competitions.  While golf is often played with other people, the real competitors in the game of golf are you against the golf course.  Sure, you can try to score better than your opponents, but really what you are doing is trying to take into consideration things like sand traps, water hazards, and distance so you can make it from tee box to hole with as few strokes as possible.</p>
<p>While golf isnt a very intensive sports activity, it does provide for good exercise  especially if you walk the course instead of taking a cart.  Youre not going to get a good cardio workout, but you certainly will benefit from a good stroll across the links.  Plus, the swinging motion will work your back muscles as well as your arm muscles.</p>
<p>Golf is one of the most competitive sports both professionally as well as for amateurs.  The lighthearted bantering you can hear on the golf course during a tournament is quite interesting.  Many side bets occur on tee boxes and before a match begins.  Theres quite a lot of ways you can try to best your opponents and make a little money on the side as well!</p>
<p>You can also find competitive golf in schools as part of their sports programs. <p>Here are some suggestions you might want to consider:</p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Just Stretch</strong></p>
<p>Usually runners and other athletes follow some type of stretching routine in order to loosen up the muscles in their legs and back before they head out.  This is a good idea even for those about to walk, especially for those who are very sedentary throughout the day.  Muscle cramp up very easily and make it difficult to move around when you do want to be active.  You might easily dismiss the idea of stretching in order to improve your golf game, but this would be a mistake.  Loosening up the back and shoulder muscles can help you to maintain the right stance without hurting your back and can make that swing much easier to achieve.</p>
<p>You may remember some basic stretching moves from high school or from an exercise class you&#8217;ve attended.  Just sitting with your legs stretched in front of you and stretching your arms out past your ankles will open up your back and sides.  Or you can stand up straight and raise your hands over your head as far as they&#8217;ll go and then gently lean forward and touch your toes, or reach as far as your leg muscles will allow.</p>
<p>Gently twisting from side to side will also open up the muscles of the back.  Remember, you need to be gentle as you don&#8217;t want to pull muscles or jerk your back and sides around; this is what causes tears, stresses, and strains.</p>
<p><strong>Regularity</strong></p>
<p>Another thing to remember about stretching and getting yourself in good physical shape for your golf game is that you need to do this regularly.  Stretching once a month probably won&#8217;t do much to keep your muscles limber and loose.  It&#8217;s best to try a quick routine every single day or several times per week for maximum benefit.</p>
<p>At the very least, make sure you stretch out every time you go out golfing.  You may notice a few players on the course holding their clubs horizontally in front of them, twisting back and forth.  Hopefully this is not the only stretching they get throughout the week!  By doing these small things for your body on a consistent and regular basis, you&#8217;ll notice a much more relaxed approach to your game and will have a much easier time with your swing.</p>
